Admission fees
Adults: € 4,00;

During cultural events and or exhibitions the price of tickets may change.

BOOKING:
- Groups (max 25 visitors): guided tours are available either for the museum and/or exhibition. A booking service is available for groups (max 25 visitors) for an additional booking fee of € 25,00;
- Schools (max 25 pupils/students): guided tours are available; booking is required for the admission.

Booking for individual visitors is available only when purchasing online tickets. If you book in advance you can skip the line by going directly to the ticket window.

Summary of regulations that govern entry to museums and archaeological sites
Free Entrance

a) to residents in the city of Rome under 18 and over 65 years of age, except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
b) to all citizens under 6 years of age
c) to tourist guides, from the European Union, when engaged in their professional work on production of a valid licence from a relevant authority;
d) to tourist interpreters from the European Union, when engaged in their professional work in collaboration with a guide, on production of a valid licence from a relevant authority;
e) to members of ICOM (International Council of Museums), to members of ICOMOS (International Council on Monument and Sites) and members of foreign and national cultural institutes such as the Lincei Academy, the Institute of Roman Studies, the Friends of the Museums of Rome, ICCROM, the Central Institute of Restoration, except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
f) for study or research reasons, attested by a scholastic institute or university, academy, Italian or foreign institute of research and culture, departments of the Ministry for Cultural Assets or other offices of the Municipal Administration, except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
g) to all during Week of Culture and the Celebration of the foundation of Rome (Natale di Roma), except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
h) to all in occasion of cultural events in Rome, organized by the Municipal Administration or under a European directive or Ministerial initiative;
i) to student groups accompanied by their teachers with a list agreed by the head of the institution, except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
l) to teachers and students from the Faculties of Architecture, Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Educational Science and degree courses in Literature or literary subjects based in archaeological or art history departments of the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy, of the countries of the European Union. A free ticket is given on production of a certificate of enrolment for the current academic year, except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
m) to teachers and students from the Academies of Fine Arts or corresponding institutions, of the countries of the European Union. A free ticket is given on production of a certificate of enrolment for the current academic year, except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
n) to Roma Pass holders, for the first 2 visited museums and / or archaeological sites.
o) to students in possession of the “Student Card” issued by the Provincial Board of the Students of Rome, except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
p) to the citizens of Paris, in accordance with reciprocal agreement made when Rome and Paris were twinned, except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
q) to guests of the Municipal Administration when they are present in the role of a delegate;
r) to disabled citizens and to a family member or another carer who is assisting them in their social or health needs;
s) to blood donors and a companion during the Summer Campaign 2010 for the donation of blood (1st July – 15th October, 2010), except for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization, under presentation of a thank you letter (for the bloodletting) signed the Municipality of Rome.
t) to officials of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage of the City of Rome, as well as to archaeologists, art historians and architects of the Archaeological Superintendence of Rome, the Superintendence of Monuments of Rome, Rome Museum Complex, requiring access for study or research reasons, under presentation of the personal badge;
u) to journalists, who can prove they are members of their professional associations with a valid document to prove it;
v) exclusively for the MACRO, to members of cultural associations, foundations and institutions linked to the museum by reciprocal relationships;

Concessions

Concessions granted for all museums and archaeological sites with the exception for the shows held at the Planetarium of Rome in the Museum of Roman Civilization;
a) to citizens of the European Union between the 6 and 25 years of age and over 65 years, and to residents in the city of Rome between 18 and 25 years of age;
b) to teachers with permanent contracts in state and municipal schools;
c) to members of the Municipal Library Association of Rome, in possession of the Bibliocard (library card);
d) to holders of the “C.T.S.” card, the Italian Youth Card Association, the International Student Card and to the members of F.A.I.;
e) for promotional initiatives, aimed at tourist, cultural and sport promotion;
f) for holders of the annual ATAC and Metrebus annual Cards;
g) to Roma Pass holders, from the third entrance onwards to the visited museums and / or archaeological sites.
h) to citizens enrolled at the People’s University of Rome (UPTER);
i) to Italian Police Personnel, under presentation of a personal badge;

Reduced rates to the shows at the Planetarium at the Museum of Roman Culture:
l) to student groups accompanied by their teachers, when booked in advance, with a list agreed by the head of the institution for citizens between the ages of 6 and 18 and over 65 years;

In special circumstances the Municipality of Rome reserves the right to allow free admission to the museums, archaeological and monumental areas and sites.

The Museums of the Municipality are covered by the Roma Pass, the first cultural tourism card in the capital, which offers price benefits and services that make visiting the city easier.

For only 30 euros, the possessor of a Roma Pass gets, for 3 days (from the first use of the card), free entrance to the first two sites and/or museums they visit, and reduced prices at all successive sites and /or museums, and has the right to discounts on exhibitions and events and can make use of free services and collateral benefits (reserved entrance areas, etc.).
