Antihall
Antihall
A small antichamber from which it is possible to admire the Music Room, the most prestigious and beautiful of the apartments. Entrance is from one of the four eighteenth century doors with a mirror and painted lintel, acquired by the artist in an auction in Turin (two were placed in the antechamber and two in the Music Room). A large Venetian chest from the seventeenth century, inlaid with ivory, a console-table with a looking glass and two armchairs in walnut, made in Piedmont in the seventeenth century furnish the anteroom. On the console are arranged photographs of the artist’s illustrious acquaintances. On the wall is displayed another large painting by Vittorio Cavalleri with the title, Donizetto writing his last work (1897).
On a small table is a small bronze model of After the vote, copied by the sculptor around 1921.
