This room contains important pieces from Canonica’s portrait collection. The sculptures, most of which are in marble, are of the Italian and international nobility. Some are of women, such as Countess Mazzoleni Bruschi Falgari, Princess Giulia of Gangi, Elena of Romania, Elena d’Orleans Duchess of Aosta, with whom the sculptor had a relationship of admiration and sincere friendship. Others are of the important men of the times: Michele of Romania, Emanuele Filiberto Duke of Aosta, and Prince Ugo of Windich-Graetz.
Next to these worls hangs the allegorical Remembrance, which trace the sad theme of the depth of memory, and Charity and Labour, two funerary works which reflect the influence of the art nouveau style on the artist.
