Room VII
Room VII is the room of par excellence of portraits, except for the three allegorical works: the Abyss, Torso of a woman and Modesty.
The portrait gallery of noblemen and noblewomen of the era which crowd the room, is almost a survey of the Almanach de Gotha of the period: people whom Canonica drew with beautiful lines and great psychological truth. Among the many busts are portraits of the King and Queen, of illustrious men and women, scientists and thinkers, including Guglielmo Marconi, and politicians such as Einaudi, Ataturk and Sidney Sonnino.
